The Falcon

The falcon is a bird of prey, that, when it attacks its victim is completely ruthless. It is like a bolt from the blue. So is a stroke.

The stroke spreads its tentacles to other members of the family. A stroke is a serious business bordering on life and death, it seldom takes prisoners. The immediate treatment is an operation of large and serious proportions with immediate admission of the victim to the ICU.

Friends and relatives are left teetering on the edge of uncertainty and distress; “will he or wont he… survive”. One moment – it is good news he will survive, next moment – he may not. After the operation every one heaves a sigh of relief and tends to bring out the champagne to celebrate the survivial. However, this may be premature, since return to even a semblance of normalcy has only just begun.
